In accordance with Swim Ireland best practice, Laser operates a Person On Duty (POD), formerly known as Parent in Attendance (PIA), rota to ensure that our children are afforded a healthy and safe environment in which to swim. All parents are expected to support this initiative and take part in the rota.
As safeguarding our members is a priority for our Club, we have asked that all parents who will be acting as PIA be Garda Vetted as a minimum safety requirement. Swim-Ireland-E-Vet-ID-Form
Please see the Laser Swimming Club Person On Duty2023
information sheet for details on the roles and responsibilities of persons on duty.
Parents should familiarise themselves with the club rules and codes of conduct and ensure the appropriate behaviour of all persons (swimmers, parents and coaches) associated with the session.
It is the parent’s responsibility to check when they are on duty and to swap with another parent if they cannot attend their designated session.
The session may be cancelled if there is no person on duty is in attendance.
Some local policies may also be in place such as signing register at reception in the leisure centres. It should be noted that the parent in attendance has no responsibility for supervision of changing areas.
The rota can be found in the phone and web app calendar.
